For residents of England, Wales and Northern Ireland

Income and expenditure is calculated using a set of guidelines called the Standard Financial Statement. I have created a simple to use calculator for you. Simply download it here, adjust the sections to reflect how many adults and children live in your home and the calculator will show you the guidelines in use by both your solutions providers and your creditors.
These guidelines do not include ALL of the items we spend money on. If it is helpful to you, I have also created a complete list for budgeting expenditure. Down the left, simply enter what you spend on each item as accurately as you can. Then, on the right, simply enter your total income and the calculator will give a good idea of your monthly payment towards a solution (although this will have to be checked by the provider of course.)
Download Budget Calculator SFS
You can also tally up your total debt level using this Creditor List. It is probably a good idea to do this anyway as any solution provider is going to need the information.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you have regarding these calculations.
